Landscape of Genetic Mutations in Appendiceal Cancers
نویسندگان
چکیده
In appendiceal cancers, the most frequently mutated genes are (i) KRAS, which, when reactivated, restores signal transduction via RAS–RAF–MEK–ERK signaling pathway and stimulates cell proliferation in early stages of tumor transformation, then angiogenesis; (ii) TP53, whose inactivation leads to inhibition programmed death; (iii) GNAS, links cAMP pathway, stimulating (iv) SMAD4, exhibiting typical tumor-suppressive activity, blocking transmission oncogenic TGFB signals SMAD2/SMAD3 heterodimer; (v) BRAF, which is part pathway. Diverse mutations reported other genes, secondary or less critical pathways for progression, but amplify phenotypic diversity cancers. this review, we will present main genetic involved appendix tumors their roles survival, invasiveness, angiogenesis, acquired resistance anti-growth signals.

A Review of Driver Genetic Alterations in Thyroid Cancers
Thyroid cancer is a frequent endocrine related malignancy with continuous increasing incidence. There has been moving development in understanding its molecular pathogenesis recently mainly through the explanation of the original role of several key signaling pathways and related molecular distributors. Central to these mechanisms are the genetic and epigenetic alterations in these pathways, su...
متن کاملCancers beget mutations versus mutations beget cancers.
Despite the plethora of "oncogenes" and "tumor suppressor genes," the hypothesis that cancer is usually the result of genomic mutations may be wrong. We should at least examine the alternative hypothesis, for which there is considerable evidence, that mutations do not commonly beget cancer, but rather that cancer phenotypes result from confused or aberrant patterns of normal-gene expression; th...
متن کاملTranscriptional landscape of human cancers
The homogeneity and heterogeneity in somatic mutations, copy number alterations and methylation across different cancer types have been extensively explored. However, the related exploration based on transcriptome data is lacking. In this study we explored gene expression profiles across 33 human cancer types using The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) data. We identified consistently upregulated gene...
متن کاملImmune Landscape of Breast Cancers
Breast cancer is a very heterogeneous disease, both at a molecular and a histological level. Five intrinsic subtypes were initially identified-Luminal-A, Luminal-B, HER2⁺, Triple negative/basal like (TNBC) and normal like-subsequently expanded to seven (Basal-like-1 and 2, mesenchymal, mesenchymal stem-like, luminal androgen receptor, immuno-modulatory and unstable). Although genetic and epigen...
متن کاملMutations of p53 Gene in Skin Cancers: a Case Control Study
Background: The most frequently mutated tumor suppressor gene found in human cancer is p53. In a normal situation, p53 is activated upon the induction of DNA damage to either arrest the cell cycle or to induce apoptosis. However, when mutated, p53 is no longer able to properly accomplish these functions. The aim of this study was to investigate the expression of p53 gene in cases of skin cancer...
